Sara. I am Italian, but I have been living abroad for quite a while, more than 5 years in London and now in Cyprus since 2010. I am a biologist and I love nature, photography, trekking, cooking, reading....but most of all travelling! The best experience I have had in my life is a 6-month travelling around the world! At Aperanti, I am the owner, the cook and the tourist guide.
Tassos. I am the local Cypriot but I have lived in the UK for 8 years, an eye opening experience. I studied environemental sciences and naturally I love being outdoors. My hobbies include trekking, cycling, reading and my newest one birdwatching (I am currently working for BirdLife Cyprus). However like Sara, my passion is to travel and to meet new people (check out my travelblog).
At Aperanti, I am the second owner, the waiter, the farmer and the tourist guide.
Maroulla. I am the mother of Tassos and I have lived all my life in the village. I have 4 sons and I worked for over 35 years as a bank employee. Now that I have retired I can spend all my time in my favourite place, the kitchen, preparing homemade bread, pastries and Cypriot dishes. My parents had their own farm with goats and sheep and we grew up making traditional halloumi and anari cheese for a living. At Aperanti, I will be introducing you to the local food and tradition.
