ART HEALING WEEKEND
29th to 31st May 2026

With local artist Michaela Mobley as guide and tutor.
A WEEKEND COMMITTED TO THE HEALING POWER OF ART, NATURE AND PERSONAL GROWTH.
You don’t have to be an artist or even good at drawing to enjoy this weekend, just come with an open heart.
Weekend Itinerary

Friday: Arrival & Dinner

Arrive at Aperanti, where the calm of the countryside welcomes you from the very first moment. As you step into the peaceful surroundings, take a deep breath and allow yourself to slow down. You’ll be warmly greeted by your host and meet your fellow retreat participants, beginning to share the space and the journey together. In the evening, gather around the table to enjoy a nourishing vegetarian dinner, lovingly prepared with homemade recipes and fresh, local ingredients— a simple, heartfelt way to settle in and connect.

Saturday: Healing in Nature

Breathe in the fresh mountain air, slow down, and reconnect through art and nature.
We'll explore the breathtaking Machairas Mountains, sketching as we go —from soaring landscapes to timeless architecture. Our journey takes us to the UNESCO-listed village of Fikardou, where we’ll experiment with shadow sketching, discovering how
PAINTING SHADOWS CAN BRING LIGHT INTO THE DARKEST PARTS OF LIFE.
After a delicious lunch in a traditional taverna, we’ll immerse ourselves in painting the vast landscape.

A WIDE LANDSCAPE CAN FEEL OVERWHELMING BUT JUST LIKE IN LIFE, WE CAN LEARN TO PAUSE, FOCUS AND FIND BEAUTY IN ONE MEANINGFUL DETAIL.

  • 8.30 am breakfast at Aperanti
  • Pick up 9.30am
  • Viewpoint sketching of Holy Monastery of Panagia Machairas and the Eagle of Freedom
  • Fikardou UNESCO village – coffee, shadow sketching
  • Lunch at a local traditional tavern
  • Painting mountains plein air in watercolour
  • Arrive back to Aperanti at 5.30pm

Saturday evening: Free time (Dinner not included in weekend price)

Sunday: Workshop Day "A Colourful Life"

EVER REFLECTED ON YOUR WHOLE LIFE? ADD COLOUR, AND HEAL.
In Cyprus we have the symbol of a red thread running through a story. Now explore the thread that runs through your life, all the high and low points. A workshop of reflection, self-worth and hope for the future. At the end of this workshop, you will have 4-5 painted small canvases, an A4 future colour block, and 15-20 small paper paintings. All materials are supplied.
Sunday evening: We say goodbye at 5.30pm.
