Aperanti will host its first seasonal coliving experience !
We would like to open our doors (and heart!) to long-term travelers and remote workers who wish to recharge their energy, embrace slow living in a small village, reconnect with nature, learn from the locals and most of all create meaningful connections with other passionate people.
THE PLACE & THE AREA
Aperanti is a traditional cypriot house built in 1915, that was renovated with much care and love for details, following the traditional architecture and using only local materials (mud bricks, natural stone and local wood). At Aperanti you will have your own private room and access to all the communal areas (a central courtyard with seating, a fully equipped kitchen, a co-working area/large dining area with some office chairs, and a relaxing space with games and books). The entire property is covered by a stable Wi-fi signal.
Our village Pera Orinis is beautifully located in the countryside, at the foothills of the Machairas mountains but not too far from the capital Nicosia that can be easily reached by public transport. The village has 2 minimarkets, a tavern, a brunch cafe and a bike rental place. There are several walking paths around the village and more hiking trails in the forest in the nearby mountains.
We also have fields with fruit trees and olive groves just outside the village and you can join us any time to collect our fruits.

ABOUT US
We (Sara and Tassos) moved to Cyprus in 2010, leaving behind our hectic life in London while searching for a more quiet place to settle down and live at a slower pace. We took over some of Tassos' parents fields and started managing them with organic agriculture practice, while planting more fruit trees. With the help of Tassos' mother Maroulla, we rediscovered traditional cypriot recipies and farming activities that nowadays are almost forgotten, like making halloumi cheese by hand. We started foraging wild plants in our valley, producing our own organic olive oil, baking home-made sourdough bread and using our fruits to make jams, squash and liqueurs. We are also keen hikers, nature lovers, adventurous explorers and keen environmentalists. In all these years we discovered many hidden gems and natural paradise places on the island where we often go for a hike or simply to rest & recharge our batteries.
In 2013 Aperanti opened its door and started welcoming people from all around the world that wanted to travel beyond the typical tourist routes and discover the real Cyprus! Aperanti is not just a place. It is the essence of who we are, it is the combination of all our love, passions and knowledge that we have grown in all these years living in Cyprus.

OUR COLIVING CONCEPT
Aperanti Coliving welcomes people of different backgrounds and nationalities who would like to make it their own home for a while. People will come together to live & work in an inspiring place, to connect with nature, to learn from each other and the locals, to socialise and to explore the island together. Our place may be small in size, but it is full of positive energies and dreams. Our location may be quiet but you will never feel alone as you will surely meet during your stay some of our international friends that live nearby and sometimes visit us.
At Aperanti coliving, you can participate in some of our activities such as olive harvesting, cheese making, breadmaking, etc. You can join us in some trekking in the mountains, birdwatching in the forest or exploring off-the-beaten track places on the island. We will also host a weekly community meeting to get to know each other, to organise communal dinners and excursions, to discuss ideas and suggestions.

Cyprus generally experiences mild autumns and winters, making it the perfect escape from the cold months in Northern Europe. It is a very diverse country, with pristine sea, majestic mountains, traditional villages, vibrant cities, archeological sites, medioeval castles and so much more to discover. It is a very safe country, relaxed and with friendly hospitable people. Cyprus is not yet part of the Schengen Area, this may be advantageous for those whose Schengen visas are near to expire but still wish to stay in Europe longer.

WHAT’S INCLUDED:
* Community facilitation and weekly communal meetings. Our experiences are co-created.
* Experience with us local life and activities in our area. We are experienced halloumi makers, we bake bread, we collect olives and fruits from our fields and wild medicinal plants from the village valley, we love to run cooking classes, and on weekends we enjoy our mountains - hiking trails or resting on our hammocks under the trees. You can join us weekly or as you wish.
* Explore the island with our inside tips & discover hidden gems for nature lovers.
* High-speed fiber-optic Wi-Fi on the whole property .
* Electricity, water, underfloor heating.
* Weekly cleaning of common areas and rooms (including change of towels and bed linen).
* Basic supplies (coffee, tea, sugar, salt, spices, hand soap, dish washer tablets, toilet paper, kitchen rolls, cling film, baking paper).
NOT INCLUDED:
meals and drinks (unless part of a cooking lesson), laundry service (we do not have a washing machine on site but we can do laundry for you every week for 8 euros per load- picked up, washed, dried & returned), car rental (it may be a good idea for the colivers to rent a car for shared use - to be discussed with the group).
DEPOSIT: we will ask a 30% deposit at time of booking. We will ask another 20% of the total amount 30 days before arrival (the remaining 50% will be paid on site)
CANCELLATION: fully refundable until 30 days before arrival. After that the deposit (50% of the total cost) is not refundable but it can be exchanged for a voucher for a next experience.
